Day 167............watcing the temperature drop-yikes.
3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.
I know that I have said this before but I think it bears repeating today. This blog really will be a great reflection on a years worth of weather in Toronto-lol.
Yesterday saw me regularly tuning into the weather forecast to see just how low it would go and by the time Alison headed out to sleepover at a friends, it was feeling like -30 outside. My legs were freezing just saying goodbye at the door and so I am not sure how hers were feeling by the time she walked ten minutes in it, after getting off her train.
Perhaps her brain got numb because I got a phonecall later in the evening from her phone but it was not her on the other end of it. Matt had found it lying in the street, around her subway stop and he had posted a message on her Facebook wall just before calling me. Whilst I was taking his details, for her to collect the phone, Jen was explaining to her dad exactly why Alison had posted that she had Alisons phone and given a mobile-number.
Tee hee and very lucky and all that. She still isn't home and I have had no message so hopefully both the sleepover and the phone pick-up went well. Her friends are going shopping this morning and so she ought to be home soon.
I have a skype consult at noon and so I am hoping that she doesn't appear without a key midway through it.
Daytime yesterday was another quiet day but I did do some writing for my book, around the new title. It feels like the right title and it also feels like it will tie everything together that I have been trying to separate to write about.
This afternoon, I hope to get started on some more writing or perhaps I just need to write down a chapter-plan, now that I know the direction.
If I go back to the weather, it's warmed up from last night, to feeling like -21 but I am wondering whether or not Pizza may be cancelled for tonights dinner. I will see what Ali's report is on walking in -30. There is a cold weather alert on and they are saying that we may hit -40 over the weekend. Now I haven't felt that kind of cold since the Christmas of 1983.
Jen and I watched a reasonably funny (if a little crude at times) movie called Bachelorette and I was glad that Ali hadn't watched it with us because I am a wee bit of a prude-lol. I am always available to answer any questions that the kids may have but I am not a big fan of graphic sexual talk in movies. So, I will not be going to see Fifty Shades of Gray. My wee personality prefers Anne of Green Gables romance.
And on that note I will close. Another fact learned about yours truly, perhaps?
Much Love,
Lxxx
