3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.
I have been really good about sticking to my alarm-clock whilst Ali has been away. 7.15-7.30 is an okay time to get up....even on the weekend, which is new to do. I had been lying in till between 8 and 9am on weekends but seems like you get more done if you stick to the same alarm-routine. Tempting as it is to roll over, I know that I will feel no different in an hours time.....still will want to roll over.
I don't have the heating timings good for the weekend, though. I think I set it to come on a t 8am, seeing as how I was lying-in. It was a wee bit chilly this weekend when I got up. Brr.
Both yesterday and this morning, there are flurries of snow. Nothing dramatic but perhaps a sign of what's to come in the near future. The snow arrived early last year so we shall see what our first winter brings.
I went to see my friend Krys, for the first time since arrival. I finally made contact with her last week and I headed out to Hamilton (45 mins on Go train) to see her new home of 2 years. She had lived in the same rented accommodation for the 30 yrs before, not far from where I previously lived and finally decided to purchase her own place when her long-term downstairs neighbour died.
Her house is fantastic. It's not so different in size to this one but a wee bit bigger with more rooms. In a wee culdesac with a front deck and a nice back porch, a downstairs den and upstairs bedroom, I spent a lovely 7 hrs with her chat chat chat chat chatting.
She's one of my friends who connects instantly whether it's been 2 years since our last bottle of wine together or not.
We began on the wine as soon as we got to her place but I am glad to report to Bill that we did stop and have some food and we did not progress on to a second, different bottle of wine. The memory of the hangover I had from our last catch-up, was enough to make sure that it would not be repeated-yuk. She did produce my sunglasses that I had left at her old place 2 years ago-bonus.
Several hours of chat later and I was back on the Go train Eastbound and got home just after 8pm. I was a wee bit peckish, so made myself a cheese and onion-filled bagel and a mug of tea which definitely hit the spot. My problem with spring onions is that I always crave a piece of chocolate after I have them and last night was no different. Lucky for me I had some Dark stuff in the cupboard and one big square and a cup of decaff and I was sorted for the rest of the evening which involved a couple of episodes of Once upon a.. and an early bed.
I didn't chat with any of 'the gang' yesterday so not got anything to report from their camps.
And that was my Saturday, Folks. Did I mention that it was bitterly cold outside yesterday? I haven't put my nose out there yet today but it does not look any warmer if the clothes covering the people walking by, are any indication. Brrr,
Lxxx
