Day 186..........and it hardly feels like I am into the second half of this first year.

Day 186..........and it hardly feels like I am into the second half of this first year.

3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.

Yesterdays start, finding the wee mouse in my trap, made me feel a bit like a murderer and I did spend some time contemplating life and it's importance. It's funny how some things just don't sit well with you and getting rid of that mouse made me feel sad and happy at the same time. Sad that I ended his life but happy that he would not be chomping, peeing or pooping on any more of my home. I am so very happy to report that he seems to have been a lone-ranger because there was no sign of any friends visiting last night plus the remaining trap remains in tact. I will leave it a few days but hope that it is no longer needed.
My funny story of the day was that I forgot to hang up on a phone-call and was (potentially) caught mimicking the bubbly attitude of one of the Drama School owners. I was stunned that he had simply taken my go-ahead for payment and hun-up and was recounting that to the girls and commenting on how confident/natural they seem via phone when I heard the voice coming out of my phone-EEK. I think that he must have picked-up to make another call and because I had been the previous caller and not hung up, our connection was still open. Oh dear. A quick apology for not hanging up and the girls said I hadn't said anything naughty but I was mortified. Me and phones have never been good friends but it did make the girls giggle.
We had a power-cut around 8pm and it was fun. I lit all the candles and we snuggled under blankets. Well, the snuggling under blankets was not new plus the power was only off for fifteen minutes so it didn't really affect the heating. The lights did flicker a few more times but stayed on. I did comment that it was perhaps payback for my mouse?
But there must be some power problems still going on though because Jen and I walked down to No Frills this afternoon to find it closed due to a power outage. That'll be no roll for Ali's lunch tomorrow, then.
The snow amounted to not too much-another disappointment because we'd been promised more. I liked it better when I didn't look at the weather but I do so, so that Ali knows how many layers to put on in the morning.
This morning was the first in a long time that she's left off her thermal hoodie layer.
Our snowman got a little extra coating but the snow is getting a bit wet and slushy in this tropical heat.
And that's a wrap, folks
Much Love,
Lxxx
