Day 184...........a wee wander instead of sitting in Tim Hortons for two hours.

Day 184...........a wee wander instead of sitting in Tim Hortons for two hours.

3 Girls and 4 Suitcases

Alisons drama class has moved its time-slot to noon till two and so we didn't have to be out of here at 8.45 as on previous Sundays, which was nice. Reflecting back to the full days picture tho' I think that the early start was better because it meant we had th full afternoon to do other stuff.
The class that she is currently in is all about her losing her accent (I can't remember the one word descriptor-doh) and learning how  to speak like an American. She stated afterwards that is not going to be easy. She has Mexican, Carribean and Russian classmates and had me in fits of giggles with her 'I am going to steal zee moon,' in a 'Despicable-me' twang that was supposed to mimic the Russian guy in her class who apparently sounds like Gru.
I had to go in and chat with one of the guys who runs the drama school, to discuss payments for 'Conference' next Feb. Conference is when the school invites a whole bunch of Agents to come along for a weekend, held in a hotel, to see/meet the students and sign them up. Ali could have gone this past month but they felt her accent would have been against her at this early point. Anyways, it felt like buying a ticket to a One-Direction concert because they are asking you to pay a whack of dosh up-front for something that happens a year from now. I have to let them know my decision by tomorrow so that my payments get adjusted for this month. The sales pitch is basically that, if you pay for the event now, your weekly class rate drops by a third so you save money that way. You also get three months classes free. Paying it up, over the year would actually cost you an extra amount for the financing and waiting and paying nearer the time could mean that there isn't a space for Ali'. Mmm? I need to get the go-ahead from my financial manager for this one.
Because I had had to leave TH to go talk about money, I decided not to go straight back there so I went for a wee wander. It was a bit warmer (-7 but with little wind) and I was curious to see what was around there. I hadn't gone very far when I stumbled upon and Open-House, which wasn't really an open house but more of a sales centre for new condo's. There was a wee mock-version of one of the smaller units but the sales-guy didn't have any 2 bed to show me. The 3 bed' will not be ready till 2016 so are out of the running for us but the largest 2 bed' would maybe do us. He is supposed to contact me this week, if he can get me in to see a 2 bed, next Sunday. The photo is the view that we would have (except from 7th floor-not ground level) I took the photo from a large park that is five minutes away. The area is due to have a subway stop joining it up with Union station, which would be fab and having a brand new eco-friendly condo does appeal in some respects. All just investigaion at this point, folks.
By the time Ali and I got home, we were both rather peckish but I forgot how late it was and had a bagel with pasta which then put me off having dinner till very late. We finally ate after seven and portions were small.
Jen and I did a very small shop at no frills and I forgot the two most needed things for Alison. Lettuce and Kiwis. That'll teach me to think that I know what is on my list. I will take it out of my pocket next time.
If you have never seen Salmon-Fishing in the Yeman, get a hold of it. I had seen it before but it was equally as good second time around. Jen enjoyed it too whilst Ali was unhappy to be doing Biology revision. Poor scone.
And my mouse? Well, I didn't set the traps last night. Being kind, we tried to mouse-proof but unfortunately the little blighter still found food in the form of a forgotten-about granola bar in my handbag which most unfortunately and unusually had been left open on the floor. UGH. When I was inspecting for evidence of his existence, this morning, I initially thought we'd done a good job till I noticed my bag. I couldn't believe it when I looked inside and discovered the chomped-upon bar. The leftovers are going onto a mouse-trap tonight because he also chewed the thumb of my oven glove. Naughty mouse, who is not staying hidden, has just made me regret letting him run amok for so long. I hope he simply disappears tho and doesn't end up in my trap.
Wishing you all a mouse-free week,
Much love,
Lxx
