Day 185.............and the mouse-trap is set.

Day 185.............and the mouse-trap is set.

3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.

So, the mouse-trap was set last night because I was fed up with the little guy chewing stuff he shouldn't have been. I did feel guilty at potentially killing the wee blighter and I hoped that he would simply disappear. I planned to order (if I could find one) a humane trap which would allow me to trap him and set him free this morning if he had behaved himself.
When I cam downstairs, I tentatively rounded the corner to see trap number one was still in tact but when I went into the kitchen, I instantly saw that the trap was upside down with a little tail attached. Major guilt and shame and I said a prayer over the little guy, asking his forgiveness, before placing the whole kit and caboodle out in the snow.
A couple of hours later, I had to go outside and attempt to extricate said mouse from trap because I thought I was being disrespectful but I couldn't do it so I have buried the whole thing under the snow, with another wee prayer.
Jen was worried last night, that the tap would snap before she went to bed. Could she wake me, she asked-tee hee. I said that she could, only if she couldn't ignore it but I hope that the trap didn't spring till after she was in bed.
Ali' was okay with the dead mouse but she, like me, was sad that he hadn't been smarter and not got trapped by the leftover granola bar that he had munched in my bag.
Rest in peace, wee moose (and Chrissie, it was a wee antler-less one)
Yesterday was my morning with Ross and God Bless, he had bashed his face against who knows what-he certainly didn't know what. I think his legs were a bit unsteady but don't know if that was related to the cause or effect of his bash. I spent lots of time on googlemaps with him, trying to show him the property that his father used to own but we were a bit lost, literally. Ross was amazed by the google earth images tho'. If you can't take the man to the property, bring the property to the man, I say.
The photo is of the street that I walk along to get to Ross' place. The snow is going nowhere because of the cold and the snow has begun to fall again today. Our Olaf, however is suffering from the winter sunshine that beats down on him in the afternoons. He could do with some new surfacing.
Last evening, we went down to see a short play at Ali's school. There were only seven cast members and their acting was great but I am not really a 'Play' kind of person. Alisons voice had been used for the opening scene, which was an advert playing on the screen, promoting a girls school. She did a great voice-over......so proud. When we were leaving, a girl called over, asking Ali' if it was her voice in the ad'. A strange question, seeing as she is the only Scottish kid in the school-tee hee.
A quick trip to No Frills which is only five minutes from Ali's school, to pick up the forgotten lettuce and kiwis and I found a bottle of Roses Lime cordial which was on clearance. Yummy drink of it when I got home. It was always my drink of choice in my 'dry' years. I munched my first Mars bar since last summer. Bill had brought me a pack of four and I am now looking forward to the other three.
Okay, I think that's that.
Much Love,
Lxxx
