Day 131.......Alison dragged out of bed kicking and screaming?

Day 131.......Alison dragged out of bed kicking and screaming?

3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.

Nah, she wasn't that bad although she did take 3 wakenings to get her to surface. Admittedly, the temperature outside was -13 with a wind that made it feel like -24 but she had to eventu

ally brave it to the bus-stop. The blast of cold air that rushed in the front door was not very welcome to me and my dressing gown, let me tell you.
I had to brave it myself, not long after that because it was my morning up with Ross. I wished that I had put leggings under my trousers, by the time I got to the station. Brr. Luckily, I can easily time my bus on the way there but I had to wait ten minutes for the one coming back and it was 'perishing'. Lucklily there was a bus shelter to shield me but my ankles were blasted through the gap between the ground and the shelter. Note to self-wear thicker sox that go above your ankles.
My visit with Ross went well but he seemed to be distracted and not able to retain info for very long but we still had a nice visit. He had to prove to himself that it was very cold outside and he lasted less than 5minutes before he turned and came back in. The community has a respiritory alert sign up and so I guess that a few of the residents are under the weather. Hopefully Ross will stay well.
I had planned to get of the bus a few stops early and see if the store that I bought the Thorntons toffee in, had any left but after standing in the cold, I opted to come straight home to warm up. It took a while but we do have a supply of cosy blankets.
I went to the bank, later in the afternoon and then, just because I was half way there, I went to the LCBO (Liquor control board of Ontario-just discovered that) to pick up some vino. By the time I got home, I was very, very cold and it took me till nearly bedtime to warm up despite the blankets. The girls were warm enough and I allowed myself (fleetingly) to ponder whether or not I may be getting sick. Not good thinking and so I stopped it.
Today, as I type, my fingers are very cold but the rest of me is cosy under my blanket.
Ali survived both school and work and was still up after I headed to bed despite the fact that I had had to have a nap in the afternoon. White bread for lunch and reading after lunch are a sure-fire way of sending me to sleep and I had to go lie down. I was sound asleep when Jen woke me an hour later. I read somewhere yesterday that it's better to call my naps 'Horizontal pauses in my day' and I must say that I did enjoy it.
Dinner was Lasagna which was absolutely delicious. I am sure it was partly that way because it was after seven and we were all more than a little peckish. The good news is that it was big enough to have leftovers tonight.
Oh wait, I defrosted chicken for tonight. Lasagna leftovers will have to be for tomorrow night.....bet you're glad that I keep you up to date on this stuff.
Piece of trivia to close.
Canada doesn't allow UK citizens to donate blood due to mad cow disease. How mad is that.
Much Love,
Lxxx
Todays pictures are the little heart garlands that Pink and Green made for me and which hang in a few more places than pictured. May post others next time. Lxx
