3 Girls and 4 Suitcases.
Yesterdays blog was written whilst waiting for Ali, who did her first drama class and it was a quick two hours. She had a great time and was full of little stories about what went on in class. Her teachers are 'characters', especially John and they put a capital D in Drama. Next week she moves to a ten till noon class and we will have to be leaving here before nine, to get her across town. She will need to be having her lie-in on Saturdays.
After class, we headed back to Royal York to pick up Jen and went straight to the Sherway Mall, which is Ali's new favourite. She was very hungry by the time we got there and so the visit was commenced in the foodcourt with a subway......for her. Jen had eaten and I eventually gave into my hunger pangs and had some noodles and veg, which were rather average but filled a hole.
The girls headed off shopping whilst I finished munching. I still had my laptop with me and debated whether to just sit and write but I decided to have a little wander around the Bay (a bif department store) I don't go near the Ladies-clothing because I am trying to last till summer without buying anything for myself, so I needed a store that had other things to look at. I found a wee bargain, in the shape of two hand-towels reduced from $14 to $4.80 each. I have been struggling a wee bit with the four hand towels that we have, to get them washed/dried and back in the bathrooms and so I purchased them. When the cashier asked for $7.20, I was delighted to discover that they had been further reduced in price. Yippee.
I had a wee text-chat with Andrew, who is still not feeling 100% but who had just got back from his first touch-rugby session and was shattered. Mmm, these rugby players really do ignore their health sometimes, eh? Hopefully he'll manage over this week and I will do a long Reiki session with him.
Alison bought herself a little top and Jen nothing and so we headed home after a couple of hours. The bus was going past the grocery store, so rather than go all the way home and come back, Jen and I got off the bus after giving Alison the laptop to take home. That meant that we had my rucksack (plus a spare bag that I hadn't realised was in there) plus Jens bag, to fill with groceries. A quick shop and Jen and I were rewarded by the bus arriving the instant we got to the bus stop.
Dinner was a bit of a do-it-yourself job. Ali was skyping home and Jen was catching up on a couple of shows, whilst I chatted via FB to one of my lovely friends.
Ali spent a good couple of hours on Skype so Jen and I watched a movie without her. Unlike the one I blogged about yesterday, this one was a dud. A bit of an Indy that didn't really go anywhere but which did actually capture reality, in some bizarre way.
Towards the end of the movie, Jen and I heard an almighty thud and scream and it was wee Ali Bali having slipped on her stairs. Poor wee soul banged her head and bashed her leg and was a wee bit stunned. I gave her several doses of rescue and a long Reiki hug and she seems to have survived. It's always a bit worrying when someone tells you that they banged their head and that it's sore.......or perhaps that's just the nurse in me? I did remind her of the warning signs of concussion but abstained from getting up through the night to shine a torch in her eyes.
Early to bed because school begins today and I am sitting waiting for Ali to get going. It's -11 with a windchill of -23 out there, this morning and so her sore leg will not be walking. Brr.I will be off to see Ross in an hour and will need to wrap up very warmly. Brrr again.
Happy Monday folks and I hope that this week is a great one.
